BEARS
Be very
careful when handling your shoebox bears. The movable joints against the
resin is very easily broken or scratched. Because of this, and the difficulty
and time consuming process of carefully writing the numbers, Boyds will
only be putting numbers on them during the first production run, after
that they will come with hangtags like the Plush Boyds.

IMPORTANT
TIPS
Never
Brush Out Chenille: This is an important rule! Not brushing will insure
it's character. Besides that, Chenille should look a little scruffy!
Love my Scruffy looking Chenille bears and wabbits!
OOPS!
Dropping a favorite
resin is always
heartbreaking.
Best way to fix it (says Boyds) is with a little Tacky Glue found at
your local craft store.

KEEP THOSE
BOXES!
Pieces only
retain their full market value if they are complete with box or MIB (mint
in box). Keep all boxes, all papers, and all packing material. The packing
material can be taken out and kept separate and the boxes broken down and
flattened which may take up less room.

RED TAGS?
When purchasing
your mohair bears and hares, look for the red tag. This means the bear
or hare is one of the first 4500 issued. Sort of like First Editions.This
will make it more valuable on the secondary market!

The
Boyds Collection......
| began as a small
antique shop in rural Maryland. Representing a combination of aesthetics,
craftsmanship, and whimsey, each piece of the Boyds Bears & Friends
Collection represents true value for today's collector. In the handcrafted
plush animals, each pattern is cut by hand, sewn and stuffed one at a time....
noses, mouths, and paws are hand embroidered, collector's hangtags are
always included. In the Bearstone Collection, each sculpture is hand painted,
individually numbered, gift boxed, and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
Each of the bears, hares, tabbies, mice, and other friends will also contain
a "Pawprint" to verify its Authenticity. The dollstones will contain it's
own "Footprint".
The best fun is on QVC when
vice president of Boyd's, Liz, presents the latest line of bears.
It is fun to watch whether you buy the bears or not, but I usually can't
resist. Some bears such as the Best Dressed Series are clad in "Bearwear".
This includes sweaters, overalls, dresses, or whatever suits the bear.
The resins are just as great with their fine detail, right down to the
buttons on the shoes. A lot of the bears on these pages are pictures of
our own Boyd's collection. Sorry, we do not sell bears and are not affiliated
with Boyds Bears, we are an information page only! We hope you enjoy!

Starlight
Children's FoundationBoyd's Bears has joined forces with the Starlight
Children's Foundation to help seriously ill children. The Starlight Foundation
benefits over 55,000 children each month. Boyd's has issued a special bearstone
and pin, Charity Anelhug with Everychild. Profits from those sales will
go diretly to Starlight. Boyd's Bears will become the official Teddy Bears
of Starlight and will donate tons of bears to hospitals throughout the
country. The special edition Bearstone figure Charity Angelhugh with Everychild
will feature the Starlight logo on the bottom and will feature a

Line Is......
Did You Know.... that the numbers
written in ink on the bottom of your resins are the edition numbers. The
first piece made is marked 1E/1(first edition/first piece), then 1E/2(first
edition/second piece)1E/3(first edition/third piece),etc. At the end of
the first edition, they start over again with second edition 2E/1, 2E/2,
2E/3,then on to the third edition, etc. For example.... if your Bearstone
has 1E/100 written on the bottom, it is the 100th piece in the 1st edition.
If it says 6E/3,500,it is the 3,500th piece in the 6th edition.

In 1987, Gary. Lowenthal began
designing a line of collectible plush teddy Bears, Hares, Tabbies, Pooches,
Moose, etc. Thus TheBoyds Bear Collection®
In 1992, he started to design
cold cast resin interpretations of his Plush Line and created The Bearstone
Collection®.
In 1993, he introduced The Folkstone
Collection®...a line of whimsical Folk Art Figurines, Snowmen, Santas,
Angels, Hares, Moose, etc.
In 1996, G.M. introduced The Dollstone
Collection®... unique sculptures of Victorian Children with their Dolls
and Teddies
And in 1998 he has introduced
his Bearware Potteryworks® and Desk Animals®!

Kravetz & Roberts announced a financial equity investment
in Boyds Collections Ltd. Boyds will receive financial asistance
to make needed improvements in all aspects of their business,
including shipping, dealers orders, Fob Members services,
etc. Gary will continue to be head of the operation..
