midi - "Happy Trails To You"

MY HERO

When I was a kid way back when,
Hot summer days seemed to never end.
I had lots of fun every Saturday,
At the downtown Rialto matinee.
I'd spend afternoons, watchin' the show,
Roy and his gang were my big heroes.

Roy with Trigger, and Gabby Hayes
My heroes back then, in my youthful days.
I'd go home and play out the scenes,
Ridin' an old broom stick in my old faded jeans.
Always the hero, like Roy of course,
Wearin' a white hat on the smartest horse.
.

I'd ride  past sunset, with Gabby and Dale,
Catchin' bad guys, and puttin' 'em in jail.
I miss those summers, when innocence reigned,
And I miss ol' Roy and the rest of his gang.
"King Of The Cowboys", I love you dear friend,
Happy Trails To You.... Until We Meet Again!

Happy Trails' to Roy Rogers
APPLE VALLEY, Calif. (Reuters) - Grown men wept Saturday as the sounds of Roy Rogers' theme tune "Happy Trails" filled a California desert church at a memorial service for the "King of the Cowboys." A hearse later carried the body of the Hollywood singing cowboy, who died Monday at 86, around the Roy Rogers museum in nearby Victorville where his famous palomino horse Trigger is stuffed and mounted. An estimated 3,000 fans threw flowers as the vehicle circled the fort-like building in a re-creation of the lap of honor fallen U.S. cavalrymen were given in the Old West.
