WINTERY DAY
Snowflakes on their journey
Blanket the Earth with snow
Draping trees in white splendor
Frosting meadows and valleys below
Children are all so excited
Playing the games that they all know
Taking turns on the old red sled
Seeing how fast they can go.
Rolling up snow for a snowman
Making him big as can be
Dressing him up in gramps old hat
With a big smile for all to see.
Sounds of winter rings in the air
From sleighbells down the lane
Candles glimmering on the snow
Red Cardinals on the wing.
All of these things the season has brought
Has put a warm smile on my face
It's all of these things, God given things
That gives winter it's beautiful grace
