FLAKY 2 CRUST PIE DOUGH

(This is my favorite pie crust recipe)

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp. salt

3/4 cup Crisco

4-5 Tbsp. cold water

 

Blend flour and salt well.
Cut in the Crisco until it resembles course oatmeal (I use a pastry cutter).
Add cold water a couple Tbsp. at a time with fork until dough begins to form.
Knead dough until it stick together to form ball. Do not over-knead.
Separate dough into 2 equal parts.
Roll out each one on floured surface, big enough diameter to fit pie plate.
Carefully fold in half and place in pie plate, unfolding carefully.
Center and crimp edges.
