SUNDROP CAKE
(or Lil' Squirt Cake)
Southerners love their cans of Sundrop, here in the north we love our Squirt. Either way is good!
5 whole eggs
3 cups flour
3 cups sugar
2 sticks butter or margarine
1/2 cups Crisco
1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
1 tsp. lemon flavoring
6 oz. Sundrop (or Squirt)
Cream sugar, butter, and Crisco. Add flour, eggs, and beat until blended. Add flavoring and Sundrop/Squirt and mix well. Bake in Teflon tube pan at 325 degrees for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Cool and remove from pan to serving platter.
ICING:
2 cups confectioners sugar
2 oz. Sundrop or Squirt
2 Tbsp. butter
Mix confectioners sugar, Sundrop or Squirt, and melted butter and pour over cooled cake.
